Open House Tips
At Elders we have found that homes that are opened for inspection can result in a quicker sale of your home.
In fact, according to The Real Estate Institute 27% of houses are sold as a direct result of open houses.
To help ensure that your open home is successful for you please use the following guide –
declutter rooms (if necessary store belongings that you won’t be needing)
place fresh flowers around your home
heat or cool rooms dependant on weather
turn on lights if needed
bake bread/biscuits or brew coffee to provide a homey feel
get rid of any cobwebs
dust, dust and dust!
weed garden and mow lawns
ensure that there is plenty of parking, do not leave your cars in front of the home and if possible ask neighbours to leave the immediate street clear as well
add an extra enticement for your open house guests such as a bowl of lollies etc.
a fresh coat of paint if needed or possible is fantastic
remove evidence of pets
clean away smudge marks around powerpoints and lightswitches
