Vacating a Property
The following list has been prepared to assist you when vacating the property you have been renting.
Stove (especially behind the stove and beside), oven, griller and drip trays.
Kitchen cupboards (inside and out), bench tops and sinks.
Bathroom cabinets, mirrors, hand basins, toilets, shower screens or curtains and shower recesses (to be thoroughly scrubbed and grouting to be free of all soap residue and mildew).
Particular attention to mildew on walls and ceilings.
To be taken off and thoroughly cleaned.
DRAPES AND BLINDS
Drapes to be washed or dry cleaned (according to fabric).
Venetian blinds to be taken down and dusted before cleaning.
Marks to be removed (particularly from around light switches and door handles).
All marks to be removed from doors, walls and ceilings.
Air vents to be dusted and cleaned.
Skirting boards must be thoroughly cleaned.
Windows, window sills and window tracks to be cleaned.
All cobwebs to be removed.
If carpet, professionally steam cleaned; if floor boards, to be polished.
Vinyl/tiles to be washed thoroughly.
To be cleaned of cobwebs and glass fittings washed.
Driveways, carports, garages and all concrete areas to be free of all oil and grease stains.
If under the terms of your lease you are responsible for maintenance of lawns, gardens etc. then lawns are to be mown and edges trimmed, garden beds and pebble gardens are to be weeded.
All garden rubbish to be removed from the property.
Remove cobwebs from exterior of house.
Put bins out for emptying.
